Hello! My name is Kaydee Lane Boone.
No, I am not a country singer, although clearly my parents had other plans when they named me. While I believe my creative talents could have made me a great musician, I was drawn to other methods of creative expression. My whole life consisted of puzzle solving, brain-teasers, painting, drawing, building with any medium I could get my hands on (you get the point). Always hearing my loved ones say things like:
“Your so creative!”
“How did you come up with that?”, or
“WHY cant you just sit still in relax?!”…..
Well Ma - my brain is always pondering, my hands are never idle, I have art to make, people to help, and a great big world that needs exploring!
Really though, my life is based around creating things, and as long as I am learning or making something, I am a happy camper.
I spent most my design career with an awesome outdoor company called Camelbak. It was so cool to be out hiking and see a trail runner zoom past me wearing the pack I had designed. Witnessing people using our water bottle designs instead of disposable plastic bottles or cups was a gift I never expected to receive when I began studying design. To see my products help people live healthier lifestyles and connect them to things like the outdoors or a concert is a truly rewarding experience. And the coolest thing was that these consumers were creating real, lasting relationships with the products I designed! I never understood the profound impact a designer can have on people, their relationships, and their impact on the planet.
